Establishing an Electrically Safe Work Condition
Before working on equipment that was previously energized, an electrician must make sure that all sources of energy are removed and that no one can inadvertently turn them on while he is working on it. NFPA lists steps that must be taken to ensure this (see Article 120 of NFPA 70E). This video demonstrates how one electrician establishes his electrically safe work condition.
